This week, I began my journey with implementing WBT. When we left for Christmas break, we were tired and overwhelmed. This week, my class returned to school with an attitude of gratitude. I implemented Teach Okay and the scoreboard. My class responded so well to the "new management" that everyone was engaged and focused. What fun we had. Less talk from me; more teaching from them. A great bonus was that two of our members felt safe enough to share some pretty profound learnings with the whole class. I think the increased discussion encouraged them to share their thinking more deeply. I'm pleased and excited to continue the fun!

Klarsen, that is so exciting!!!!! What a fantastic way to start the new year! I can feel your pain as you left for Christmas break. Last year, I felt the same way, I felt like the only hope I was clinging to was this new kind of teaching called WBT. Isn't it crazy how experiencing setbacks can actually turn into the best learning experiences for us as adults and teachers? I hope I never have to redo the painful year I had last year, but if I hadn't experienced it, I would never have been introduced to WBT. I hope the rest of your year continues to get even better and you find new excitement in your students' experiences along the way!
