My school uses Success For All reading and Kagan cooperative learning. I would like to use more Whole Brain Teaching in my classroom. I asked my principal about attending a seminar. There is one in town. I don't want to cause any conflicts. Here is her question to me:

Based on the research you've done on this workshop how do you think this information will impact your instructional practices to strengthen student achievement?

I believe in WBT. I have dabbled in it and want to increase how much I use it. Anyone want to share how they would answer my principal's question?

Thanks! a second grade teacher

Your answer is that 98% of instructors who have attended WBT workshops believe our classroom management system is the best they've seen ... thus, if nothing else, your use of our system will increase the amount of time students, in a well managed classroom, will spend on learning tasks (see the research article in the Goodies menu above).

To add to that awesome response from Biff~ the benefit of using WBT is that it is a Classroom Management system and method of Instructional Delivery that will (as Biff said):
* increase student time on task
*produce authentic, active engagement
*increase student learning
AND it can be utilized to effectively deliver instruction of ANY mandated program or curriculum.

One of the blessings and benefits of WBT is that no matter what comes down the "pipeline"~ I can be successful because MY MANAGEMENT AND INSTRUCTIONAL DELIVERY METHODS ARE SUCCESSFUL! That rocks! In a profession where we are constantly given new things to "add to the pile"~ WBT manages that pile!

That's the secret to how it will impact your instructional practices, thereby strengthening student achievement!
