I'm trying to plan my 2nd grade place value unit and I just discovered Smoothy Bumper Planet! LOL! (I love the WBT is so fun that it makes me laugh)

I'm looking for any specifics on how you have used this in the classroom. I'm imagining it as a quick practice that takes a short ammount of time each day, but I'd love to hear some real-life input.

Thanks!

I am a kinder teacher and I use it during our DoNow! time. A DoNow! Is our quick review time that my students do independently and it occurs before we begin a lesson in that area. For math, I have the Smoothy Bumper Planet sheets in sheet protectors. Each student has their own sheet, a small pointer (I use a cocktail stirrer), and they each have a "whisper phone" (those little phones made out of PVC pipe so they can hear themselves. The students do their "do nows" by reviewing the numbers forward, in rows, by skip counting, and even backwards. After two minutes of independent practice we "hang up our phones"~ and review whole class. It is easy to monitor during their independent time and during their whole class practice because I can see with their pointers. They love smoothy bumper planet:)!

Thanks Andrea! I wasn't even thinking about doing it independently, but why not?!
