This week our primary grades got some visitors from the Head Start Program. Their Head Start campus site is located on our campus. They were seeking to learn and get an overview of what kinds of engagement strategies we are using in the lower grades that they could possibly take back with them to use with their young students. Their whole goal is to get the students prepared for Kinder when the time comes. When they came in my classroom, they were surprised to see how well the students were responding and how engaged they were. They had the opportunity to view Class/Yes, Teach/Okay, The Five Rules, and see the "leaders" actually leading the class (with their buttons on). As I was walking my students to lunch, I bumped into them and they came up and thanked me for giving them so many ideas to use. They LOVED my class, especially how the students were leading each other. Of course I told them all about WBT! They were so excited to go back and look it up. How amazing that even the 3-4 year olds can benefit from WBT. I would love to go visit them using WBT in the future! It will be so adorable!
