Can you all think of ways to combine some of the 10 brain toys?

I am thinking of ways to work with first graders on things like:

* authors purpose
* the big idea in a story
* inference (we did talk about this Sat. on livechat)

Is it advised to have the child use a "starter" gesture when doing brain toys, or just say "mirrors up, brain toy ______, let's. . .
