Hello,

I have used the scoreboard and love that for use in my classroom. This year I want to incorporate the practice cards that coorelate to the classroom rules.

My concern is that I am unable to keep my kids in for recess this year (due to personal reasons). I won't even have the 2-4 minutes needed for the practice.

Are there any ideas of how to incorporate this same strategy without the recess/lunch time being used?

Thoughts and suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!
Warmly,
MROSS34

I have choice time during my reading and math blocks so students would do their practice time during the next choice time that day. Students hate missing even 2 minutes of choice time so they didn't mess around too much. Hope that makes sense

Ross, remember not to start practice cards too soon. After Thanksgiving is usually a good spot. The scoreboard will get 90% of your class on board so you should be able to use practice time for those FEW at times it will make an impact to them that they can not participate. Make sense?

Hi Ross,

Often I will have my students practice while the rest of the class has free time or center time. Also, they can win the Scoreboard before recess and lunch so while the class is having their reward (Mind Soccer, etc.) the other students practice. Hope this helps:)
