I've been asked to do a 10-15 minute presentation on WBT tomorrow as part of our Positive Behavior Support meeting. I'm thinking about just doing some examples of how to vary Class-Yes and have fun with it and different 10-Finger Woos, along with teaching some finer points of using the score board.

Does anyone have anything they think ABSOLUTELY should be mentioned? Remember, this is just on the positive behavior management side of WBT, and I only have 10 minutes.

Maybe...throw in hands, hands, hands and eyes!

That also gets students ready to listen with respect to positive behavior management. Oh ya...the three peats too!

Good Luck!

I'm completely new at this, but it seems Scoreboard might be a good thing to do, too. Maybe you could keep one running the way Coach B. does in the videos of him teaching the middle schoolers how to use WBT.

Wendi is right. If you are focusing on behavior management, definitely use a scoreboard. Give them points on responding to class yes and hands and eyes. It will keep your audience more focused. After all, teachers love to talk! Good luck and have fun with it!

I meant to respond sooner than this, but the presentation went very well. Even though it's a no-no to let a group win the scoreboard game the first time, I did let them win. The prize? They are allowed to come by any time and watch me teach or ask me questions about Whole Brain Teaching! That's a pretty sweet prize, if you ask me.

Everyone loved me the presentation!
