TOPIC: bench marks for prove it

bench marks for prove it 8 months, 3 weeks ago #7912

That is a great idea to use the benchmarks, I just need to be sure the wording is the same but different. You know not, not exact question but close so they can explain the why not part to prove their answer

Annette,
I have been using benchmarks for the past two weeks. Another colleague also suggested using Daily Oral Language questions to prove and disprove, until the proper questions for Prove-It are provided. My only concern is I want to make sure that my students are exposed to the proper academic language, with respect to state testing.

Teachr4L,
Prove it is something you play at the beginning of class. Basically, it is generated or released State Test questions. Students work for about 10 minutes in the morning, on their white board, with their partner. They need to prove the correct answer and provide reasons why the other options are incorrect. I am simply using state released questions, for now. I am trying to get a workshop going so that each grade-level, within our district, generate questions that we can use throughout the year.
HTH!
