When I was teaching kinder I would do the clap clap teach, but then when they did their part I did it with them clap clap okay. By being able to watch me it really seemed to help. Then we could add in "trickier" rhythms.
For the full body turn, we used our "fast wheels". We would hold our fast wheels up, show them to our neighbors, grease them up and then turn "lightening speed fast" to our neighbors. This really helped.
Now that I am in second grade, and since I have had alot of my current students before, I tell them that our principal was so kind that she installed swivel chairs and so I have them "swivel" to their neighbor and then back to me. In fact, just for fun, every morning when we review the rules and routines~ we test out the swivels and "get our swivel on"

They seem to love it and it is kind of a crack up!!!
