Is anyone using the UHM in first grade? How is it working? Does anyone have a parent letter for UHM?

Yes, I teach first grade and use UHM. In all my 30 + years of teaching, the homework issue is repaced with tears of joy ( from me and the parents). We love it. If you e mail me I would be more than happy to share my weekly chart and parent letter.

What is the Universal Homework Model?

The universal homework model is outlined in the model teaching handbook. This can be found under the free e books tab. I use this with first grade. It has made my life teacher heaven. No more aguments from me, did mom sign or not, record keeping charts, hearing every excuse in the book and punishment for those who didn't do theirs. The best part of U H M is it makes everyone successful.
