Hi all,

I am planning on attending the National Conference in Alexandria, LA this June (13-15) and would love some details - at least enough to know when to book my flight in and out. I'm guessing you'll get going the morning of the 13th, so I should plan to arrive the evening before. But when will things wrap up? I know most conferences I've been to in the past usually end around noon on the last day. Should I assume this is true for your conference?

I'd like to book my flights ASAP to take advantage of advance booking discounts.....

Also, if you have a rough outline of the conference agenda, it would be a help.

Jen...this is great news and it will be truly an awe inspiring time for you!

Yes you are correct, we will start around 830 AM on the 13th and go until at least 2PM on the 15th. Alexandria is a 4 gate airport so there are not a ton of options when flying in, so definately get there on Sunday and have some fabulous Southern hospitality! Also, we're not far from the airport, so you won't need to worry about getting there 2 hours before your flight. That means you would be fine in a flight leaving anytime after 4 PM, just in case we go over the 2 PM thought.

Day 1Classroom Mangement with break out sessions that are grade specific.

Day 2Academic games for reading and math. Again, breakout sessions for each grade.

Day 3The Writing Game, with some Critical Thinking thrown in. (Most Likely, whole group)

I'm so excited about all the WBT conferences that are coming up this summer. I just registered for the one in West Plains along with Susan and a couple of other teachers from our building. I'm trying to work the National Conference in as well. I think I have cleared it with my husband, now I'm just trying to convince a couple of colleagues to attend with me, so I don't have to make the long drive or trip by myself!
