Biff, would it be possible to post your videos in Teacher Tube?
My school has banned access to Youtube and I would love to be able to share the WBT videos with my colleagues.

Thanks.

Shelly,

Youtube is blocked at my school also, so I showed the video from the Livestream site. If you click on the link on the WBT homepage, it will take you to several videos.

Hope this helps!

Shelly ... we have a number of our videos on TeacherTube ... search under our old name "Power Teaching" ... we'd post there more but have found the site is not well maintained.

I did type in WBT in the search under Teacher Tube, however it came up empty. No wonder why. You had another name!!!! I'll try it on Monday at school. See you tomorrow.

Youtube and Teachertube are blocked at my school! I am hoping to post to a private site sometime soon and just send you guys the link. I need to create a media release. However, I might upload to youtube from home. I just need to make sure I get a media release and I might need to keep it private and only people who contact me can get access - I'm not sure, depends how I word it and what my principal says. Conferences are coming so I could talk to parents about it then.

You Tube is also blocked at my school. What I do is watch at home and videos I want to share I download. This also works will because I don't have to worry about slow internet making the video stop. It is very easy to download by typing kick between www. and youtube on the video you want to download. So if I am watching the latest video on compound words the address bar says:

I type kick in so it reads: www.kickyoutube.com/watch?v=AMDvD_Ewf0U&...=channel_video_title

I choose the format I want to save it, I like mp4, and download the video to my external harddrive. Once I have enough videos I burn dvds so I don't use too much harddrive space. Hope this helps

These sites are blocked at my school as well, but our technology department was able to view, approve, and allow limited access to those videos. That may work for your district as well.

I have the same problem. A wonderful teacher in our county found a way around it though. You can follow the directions below and watch anything that saw on you tube or teacher tube. I hope that this helps.

How to save a you tube video

Find the video that you want to save. Highlight and copy the address.
Go to www.zamzar.com
Click on the tab that says Download Videos ( you don’t nee to sign in)
Paste the url for your video in the box - (step 1)
Choose your format (step 2)- I have save them as mp4 and mov
Type in your email address (step 3)
Click convert (step 4)
Wait for it to be emailed to you. It will email you a link - click on the link and it will download it :o)

I also added the directions as an attachment so that you could send them to other people.

Awesome! I can't get onto Youtube at school either! I will be looking on the Teacher tube. Is it allowed by most of your schools? I won't know till we get in there next month, but I will try it.
Thanks!!
