TOPIC: A WBT Intro Video for Parents

A WBT Intro Video for Parents 1 year, 10 months ago #3458

In getting ready for our school's parent orientation (Aug. 4th!) I had planned to use one of the parent letters mentioned recently. But, in looking at all the wonderful WBT videos available, I was wondering if Mr. Biffle or some of the other amazing staff could put some of the clips in these videos together and create a short video teachers could show to parents at orientation or back to school night. Maybe some parents could get a better idea of what WBT is all about by actually seeing it in action!

I hope to be able to create a video of this type with my students later this year since I will be beginning at the start of the year rather than midway through as I did last year.

Great suggestion! Could you put the video together and post it online? Join us in helping teachers!

I can certainly try. I'd have to work on finding the current WBT videos in a way I could download them so I could put one together. Later this coming school year, I plan to do some filming in my classroom so I could make one with my own class. If you could tell me where I could download some of the videos that are out there now, that would help me get started!

If you download realplayer it will allow you to save a video from the internet.

I cannot speak for Mr. Biffle and the Whole Brain Teaching team about their feelings about someone using their video's to create a different parent video. They would need to approve that. I love the idea and might just tape my own, if i do I'll post it for people.

I do know that my school blocks youtube video's I never can view them on our school computers. I have downloaded them to show other teachers and my admin. Once upon a time i had a cd with them from a conference but someone must have borrowed it and loved it so much they kept it or passed it on. That's ok I'm slowly turning my school!
