It's the end of the year and I need new rewards for the Scoreboard Game. I teach fifth grade R/LA and they switch to their other classes. There's no recess. Here's what I've used so far:

1. Gel Pen Day
2. Sit at Seat of Choice
3. Bonus Question on Quiz or Test
4. Less HW
5. No HW on Weekend
6. Small Prize

Any other ideas? I'm really struggling here.

Help,

Can you use Mind Soccer. Really "beef" up the reward for:

Girls vs. Boys
Teacher vs. Students
Tables vs. Tables

cool vs. steaming hot

Teams that you can make up and do some real concentrated review time might help. I will be asking the same question later as we are year round and go to school until July 21st.
Good luck!

Something that my class has enjoyed is earning letters to spell out their reward. For example the first one was POPCORN PARTY. When they had more they earned a letter. When they had more they lost a letter. I think it took about 6 weeks for them to earn it. I popped 2 bags of popcorn, so it cost me less than a dollar.

A few possibilities:

1) I'll give my students Riddles....I use Riddlenut.com
They love this!

2) Having a 'music party' (even if just the last 5 minutes of class) where students pick a song and you play it. I have to either be familiar with the song or they will have submitted it before hand in order to be okayed.

Hope those help!

Good Luck!

As Always,

Awesome ideas! Thanks! I really love the popcorn party one. I'm going to try that at some point this week.

Going along with Jason's music party idea- my students LOVE to get to dance the Cha Cha Slide. You can find it on YouTube and it takes less than 5 minutes.

I'd like to find other ones like that, but I'm not really up on the latest music/dances.

The macarena is an easy dance that can be used as a reward. My friend and fellow WBT pal reminded me about it.

But if you look on the score board section of the levels, I think there is a part on the boom box.
I think it goes like this: Instead of the scoreboard place a boom box on a table. Instead of a happy face point, move the boom box closer to the outlet. Move it farther from the outlet instead of a frownie. When they finally get the points to get the cord into the outlet (who knows who long that will take) the kids get a minute of music.
