OK, everyone - I am REALLY excited about this. I FINALLY found a way to share this publicly with you, since the file is too big to attach here. Since I teach 9th grade Physics, I am going to have to develop my own content-specific PowerPix.

It's easier to make them in PowerPoint. So I made an sample slide and have uploaded it to a FREE HOSTING SITE. Please check out the link, download it, and let me know at least if it worked for you:

www.slideshare.net/flyingms2/power-pix

(You'll want to change my "PA standard" to whatever state standard you are using).

This is a FREE site, and I think it might be a great place for our WBT community to share teacher-developed resources. Let me know what you think.

Jen...this is a super PowerPix! Well done...keep it up. You are correct with being on an island in upper grade science. Once you get started they will start to roll off like a printing press just before the deadline!

Also, good find on the website! Thanks for the tip.

Power to the Teacher!
Chris

Jen,

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This template is AWESOME! I was feeling a little down when I looked at my attempt at Power Pix. They did not look good-at all. But now, they will be sooooo perfect! Thank you so much for sharing this! It is a HUGE blessing!

I made one very easily for Predicate using your template. For some reason, the 3rd grade power pix from WBT has subject of a sentence, but not predicate! Thank you so much for sharing this with us so we didn't have to recreate the wheel. Saving time for teachers everywhere! YEAH!

GREAT! You can easily change the background color in PowerPoint, as well. Just go to the Format menu (in PowerPoint 2003 anyway) and select Background ,then choose your color, and voila'!

Hello,

If you don't mind can you share the predicate poster you made? Also what ideas have you come up with for the gesture. I was thinking running in place to show an action?

Thanks
Lindsey

I'd be happy to. Jen, can you give me some quick advice as to how to load it to the same place that you did? I'll try to attach it here, but I don't know if it will work.

Well, attaching it didn't work, but I think I figured out how to load it to slide share. See if this works:

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but it looks like you were successful in uploading it. Nice PowerPix for Predicate!
