TOPIC: everyone chime in

everyone chime in 8 months, 2 weeks ago #8101

Brain toys are so much fun. All terrain are cars, sand 4 wheelers, moon rovers and such that will catch the attention of our boys especially. They can move along the desk surface to explain steps in directions, sequence a story, do being middle end re-tell and so on. Use your imagination. The use is designed for I hear it, I see it, I can move to it, I can learn it.
Maybe other wibiteers can come up with more remember I am no expert.

I've had great results with the brain toys especially the sock hand puppets. The kids use one hand puppet to tell the other hand puppet how to spell things such as HFW's. One hand puppet will spell a vocab word while the other gives the definition. Even my kids who don't always use the other gestures will use the brain toy gestures. It's so cooool!

Hello! My class this year is a quiet class and I have been having a hard time getting them to really get excited and "teach-okay" with their partner. I have decided to add the brain toys- air blackboard and sockless hand puppets and I am having my students use those brain toys first to teach themselves, then teach their partner. Hopefully this will help my fifth graders come out of their shells! Any other thoughts of how to get my kids excited?

Thanks for all the help!
