I'm trying to think of a gesture for 'community center' for a 1st grade efl class I'm teaching at a school in Taiwan.
Any ideas???

You could do a hand clasp and two shakes to show how everyone works together in a community. You could even start by drawing a building with your two pointer fingers followed by the hand clasp and shakes.

Drawing a building with pointer fingers is clear and so is the hand clasp to show togetherness. I don't understand your two shakes idea. Do you mean like hand shakes or shaking off a bee that landed on your hand?
I might just stick with the using pointer fingers to make a building followed by clasping hands together.

You could use both hands to create a large circle starting at your body and moving away. Then use one fist to represent the center of this large community.
