I've been teaching for 12 years and have always been really big on utilizing routines, procedures, and some chants. However, this takes it to a whole new level. We have been using a required set of strategies in our district for the past few years (I will refrain from mentioning the name of the consultant group) and they want us to focus heavily on the use of partners. The ideas from WBT are just what I have been waiting for! I am tired of being told to use partners and not being instructed on how to do it so that it best meets the needs of the students and the teacher. I plan on "Power Teaching" this next school year. I am so glad that I found the site early in the summer so that I can really have time to digest it all and plan ahead. Thank God for teachers who want to help other teachers (and for FREE!)

I would like to hear from any kindergarten teachers who have implemented "Power Teaching" at the start of the school year. Any tips? I am sure that the gestures will work wonders with our limited English speakers. Thanks!
