Hello to all!

I have been visiting this site for several months now, learning as much as I can about WBT with the intention of starting to implement it when school begins in a few weeks. I teach 7th and 8th grade social studies to at-risk students in an at-risk school. In other words, our students are not making the grade on state tests; teachers and administrators are under a microscope; and jobs are on the line (not to mention the future of all of our students!)

Discipline has been dismal and nothing has worked. I for one have come to the conclusion that I am going to have to make HUGE changes in order to get results and keep my sanity. I HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE (and no more rabbits to pull out of a hat.)

Thank you to Chris Biffle and all the founders of this teaching method, and thank you to all who have contributed valuable insight and ideas to this forum. I have a lot of strategies to work with now and I am excited about the possibilities for the new year!
