I attend Slippery Rock University in PA. I am going to do a presentation on Power Teaching in one of my classes. I am looking for data on the validity and reliability of Power Teaching (with students with disabilities). I am very interested in using this with students who have autism--especially Asperger's syndrome.

I am doing my action research project during my student teaching on student's fluency using Power Teaching. Would love any suggestions.

I do not know much about teaching students with autism, but I have a cousin with Asperger's Syndrome. I do know that most students with such disabilities love routines. Reciting the rules, class/yes, teach/okay, etc. are all very reliable routines for students. Although it may be difficult to find hard research on WBT for students with disabilities, I would suggest that you find research on building routines in the classroom for students with disabilities. You can then make a great case for WBT being a good fit. Good luck! Let us know what you find and put a post telling us how your presentation went.

Regarding fluency, the Superspeed games are a great tool for increasing fluency. They are located above in the free downloads tab. I would create your baseline, (first game the students play), from there you can track student progress over time. This would be your measurable data.
Does anyone else have any thoughts?
