TOPIC: Powered Up in Arkansas!

Powered Up in Arkansas! 3 years, 3 months ago #62

Hello fellow PTs!
I've been Power Teaching for one month now and it has been a life-saver! I work less (at home and during prep) but come 3:00 I'm exhausted--so worth it!
Anyone know anything about dates/locations for upcoming seminars?

We have a Power Teaching Refresher on Feb 28th from 1-3pm (I am sure it will go later) in Dallas. It is short, but is a chance for some of our Power Teachers to get together and brainstorm, ask questions, and share ideas and for teachers new to Power Teaching get some help getting started. We are always happy to have others join us!

We'll update the calendar on this site as we get information about Power Teaching seminars ... and hello, Arkansas! How did you hear about Power Teaching?

Ah, but isn't that kind of 'exhaustion' so much better than the kind you were experiencing before? I noticed when I started how exhausted I was, too, but hey! I also noticed it's good for my health. I increased my 'steps' on my pedometer by 2000 steps a day no problem!
Welcome, Arkansas! Power Teaching just keeps on spreading... keep coming back with your experiences, questions, etc...

Good to meet you!

Yes! I'll take physical exhaustion over mental any day!
I wish I had a video of our Valentine Party today. Parents' jaws were dropping and I overheard more than one comment like, "wow! how does she do that?" And all it took to get my kids' attention in a room full of sugary sweets, parents, and bingo was a "classity, classity, classity!?!"

I found Power Teaching on Teacher Tube about a month ago. I was looking for a video to help teach 2-digit addition. Since that day I've taught my class Class/Yes, Teach/Ok, Class Rules, Scoreboard with sound effects and gestures--and have been in "teacher heaven." I'm going to be implementing No Guff next week, and that's oh so timely.

I'm blessed to be teaching at a private Christian school so I was thrilled to find your whole brain life of Jesus. We've learned 25 so far. It is amazing to see 18 second graders recite in unison facts about the life of Jesus.

I'll be sharing the PT videos and my experiences at a staff meeting next week; many of my colleagues have looked briefly at the PT resources are itching to find out more. I emailed my "evidence" to you a few weeks ago. Was I wrong in assuming your reply was permission to use the resources? BTW-do you need us to email evidence for each PT resource we forward? That would be a lot of emails. :~)

Oh, I wish I could come to Dallas! My son will be turning 13 that weekend so I don't think I can make the road trip. I appreciate the info! About how often do you have these?

We still have some room if you change your mind!!

We will probably have another one at the end of April or begining of May - we will put it on the calendar when we decide...

I love the guff counter - it saves so many arguements, you can't argue guff - especially when the whole class tells you to stop!
