I have been teaching fourth grade for 6 years, but this year (due to the thousands of teacher layoffs across New York State) I have found myself in kindergarten and thankful for my job. I am looking for all advice about being a kindergarten teacher. I have not ever been into a kindergarten room, since I was a student. I want to employ these techniques to help me with this new challenge. I wish there were workshops in upstate New York. This is amazing!

Welcome to WBT and to Kindergarten. Wow! what a change! You are right; though, WBT is amazing and will work at any grade level. Have you been on Chris Biffle's YouTube web page? There are some great videos of Farrah teaching some kindergarten lessons posted there. I know there is a kindergarten video on the WBT website also under the Video tab. Make sure you check out the kindergarten section of the "grade specific" part of the forum as well. You will find that you will have a huge amount of support here.
Good luck!!

Hi, yes Welcome...

I think you are on the right path with WBT for kindergarten. Read the manuals, and keep checking in and posting here on the board.. we are here for your support. I know what you mean about being thankful for a job, so run with it ! I know WBT made me a super star at my school last year, they even paid for me to go to the National Conference.

Best wishes to you and I look forward to reading your post on your progress.

jkondrk,
One neat thing about teaching WBT is that there is plenty of sample lessons on the internet. I have to say that I was taken back by Farrah Shipley and her WBT influence in her kindergarten class. I think that you will find the e-books and the videos, on the internet to be helpful until.... WBT can get to you!

Good luck and keep us informed!
