I've had my doubts since starting back to school that WBT was going to work. I've always been a very traditional teacher, but I watched the videos all summer long believing that this was a better, more effective way to teach. I think that I watched them so much that I thought everything would go smoothly from day 1. Wrong!

Today, which is day 14 for me, I really think WBT will work (if I don't run out of steam)! Afternoons are hardest. I forget to use the scoreboard, and my kids get too rowdy, but today I made a concentrated effort to keep it going. What a difference! I was able to get so much more accomplished with the students today. After thinking about Tuesday's live stream, I added oral writing, help me, and the bungee "ahhhhh-oooooo" for venturing off topic in oral writing. The kids were loving it. I even drew a wacky fun star button on the board just to tease them!

I think that they don't know what is going to come out of my mouth next, and they're eating it up! Thanks, Mr. Chris Biffle, for sharing WBT with the world, and especially with me.

I am so glad you found WBT! I feel exactly the same way...my kids eat it up, they can't get enough!

Give yourself a mighty oh yeah for sticking with WBT strategies. As you practice and model WBT in the classroom, your students will get excited, especially as they see the excitement from you. Once you are immersed in WBT, you will not want to go back to the traditional way of teaching.

Great to hear Bamagirl!!
I think that once you start getting student leaders involved, things move more effortlessly. I know that I was truly exhausted the first two weeks after school, but now, a few students help remind and lead the show. ALso, majority of the students are on board. You are just a hop, skip, and a jump away from teacher heaven!!

Hey Bamagirl!

So excited to hear that you've found WBT, and that you're giving it a shot in your classroom! Stick with it! You'll be amazed at all you can get accomplished and how much your students will love coming to school and your classroom. I agree with Heather too! Once you get student leaders involved, the dynamic of your classroom will change even more. I started introducing my student leaders this past week, and my kiddos loved it. They can't wait to see if they are going to be chosen as leaders the next day! Make sure to keep us posted and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to post them.
