Hi everyone,
I am a special education teacher, K-3 in San Diego, Ca. I am that crazy teacher who makes the kids repeat everything, paired a silly movement. I always thought I had something going, but I didn't know what to call it, how to perfect it, or who to talk to about it. Now I finally feel at home! Can't wait to get ideas about new chants, gestures, and find my way to a Whole Brain Teaching seminar!!! Teaching is so much fun when you do Whole Brain Teaching ...I love the comment on this thread about being wonderfully exhausted. Thanks!

Welcome home!

Interestingly, you seem to have come to Whole Brain Teaching by the opposite route of most people. It seems to me that most of the people I've talked to (and read testimonials for) were distinctly NON-Whole Brain Teachers before finding Whole Brain Teaching. Huh. It's kind of like being a born again Christian in that way. lol

lol, born again....what a nightmare! thanks for the welcome. actually Whole Brain teaching will bring a structure and substance to my teaching that i've never had. i still need to watch all the videos and implement it all....i'll probably have lots of questions! are you the one who suggested an organized access to stick gestures? this is the best idea....i hope the site implements this and i can help! i spend a lot of time looking through sign language books and brainstorming how to act out words and concepts! great blog, by the way:)

Yeah, I suggested the sticky thread for good gestures. You can still share gestures even without that though, just go to the Gesture Brain Storming category. Thanks for the kind words, it's great to know someone read the blog! :-P

Where in San Diego do you teach? I'm from there, and my mom still works in the district, at Central Elementary.
