Hey all;

I've been notified that my announced Formal Observation is occurring...wait for it...on 11/24...yep, the day before Thanksgiving Break! (Who else thinks all admins everywhere should know better than that???

Anyhow, I hope to be finishing up a business letter writing experience by then. Students are typing them up on Monday. So, any wonderful follow-up lesson ideas related to letter writing, or just a wonderful 1 day writing lesson idea would be more then welcome, especially if it already has WBT in it - I'd love the opportunity to show WBT in action to the head admin.

I teach intermediate English MS students.

Thanks in advance!

Okay, I think I've got it. Please note that the lesson I created is a wrap-up of a letter writing unit. With minor modification, it could be used as an opener. Also note that the Warm-up is a building mandated language arts program and would need to be substituted out for your particular purposes. Our periods are about 43 minutes long, and I've allowed some cushion time because I've never done the lesson before.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks!

PS: I pulled ideas for this lesson from Kagan's Write! and Kagan's Question Manipulatives materials. I pulled the idea for comparing and contrasting the 2 types of letters from a Read, Write, Think lesson (The Correspondence Project).
