Hello everyone,

I see that there are so many teachers using WBT this year, and just like you, I am using it for the first time as well.

I was wondering, where I should I look for more information about WBT in Kindergarten. Like it has already been mentioned, Kindergarten is a 'world' of it's own and I want to make sure that the strategies I am using will be perfect for my K-students and not geared for the upper grades. I have already seen the class rules posted by Ms. Andrea/Mr. Biffle and I am very excited to be using those...especially making sure that I introduce them one at a time.

I am very interested in the scoreboard and how that works, as well as the rule picture cards. I work in a VERY Urban setting and our students' behaviors can really be extreme. But I have looked at many of the videos and deep down in my heart, I know that this can work for me.

Well, I happen to know that my best friend Andrea Schindler is a teacher in kindergarten, and she uses the score board just like Biffle does. We have come up with festive mighty oh yahs and mighty groans...
for example During Halloween....we say "trick or treat" for mighty oh yah
we say "hee hee hee" for mighty groans
Christmas...we say "Ho Ho Ho" for mighty oh yah
we say "No Toys" for mighty groans
You get the idea! You have to make it fun for the kinders:woohoo:
They really buy in to it....Remember to start slow....You don't need to do everything...Like the famous Shreck used to say, "Onions have layers"....Well, so does whole brain teaching....you master it each layer at a time..That's how I did it...Good luck and have fun;)

Oh...I forgot to tell you to keep watching the YouTube videos and read the free manuals on this website...Andrea is on this website and she could help you too.
