I want to give a huge shout out to WBT, Chris Rekstad, and Chris Biffle! I have used WBT in my classroom all year, and have attended several different workshops! I have to say that my kiddos were more confident on the MAP test this year than in any other year, and this is my 6th year teaching. I have to give props to WBT! I used the gestures, PowerPix, and games throughout the year, and my students responded really well! I asked them after the test what they thought, and they all told me that they remembered the gestures, and everything that was on the test was something we had learned about this year, and that they thought they did well! I was so excited!

Can I get a Mighty Oh Yeah?!!!!

Thanks,
Staci

I had to share today in our collaborative team meeting about my students telling me about how their gestures helped them to remember items that they were being asked about on the MAP test! Everyone was very impressed!

My students commented several times after MAP testing was over on how prepared they were for the big test as well! Usually students are commenting on how they didn't know this and that on the test, so these comments were very encouraging! I am excited for the scores to see just how BIG of a difference WBT made in test preparation.

I am right there with you Laura! Usually I am not as anxious to get the MAP testing results, but after this year, I really want to see how my kiddos did! They all seemed so confident after testing was completed. I know their confidence is due to the use of WBT in my classroom! We need to make sure and get on here to report when we get our results. I'm sure both of our classes knocked it out of the park this year!

Hi there! I would love to hear how your students did on MAP!! I'm going to start using WBT this year and I'm sure you have the same question always posed - where's the data to back it up - so you guys should have some data. Please share or share the name of your district/building if you feel comfortable doing so. Thanks! Desri

Hi damato815!

I will definitely share how my students did on MAP when I get the individual class results. Last year was the first year for me to fully implement WBT, so I'm anxious to see how my kiddos did compared to classes that didn't use WBT.

Hey everyone!

We had our weekly grade level collaboration last Friday, and received our MAP data. I'm ecstatic to report that my kids rocked it compared to the other 3rd grade classes all thanks to WBT! In Communication Arts, my kiddos were 11% ahead of one class in proficient and advanced and 26% ahead of the other 3rd grade class in proficient and advanced. In Math, my kiddos scored an amazing 73% proficient and advanced. Out of 26 kids, 19 scored proficient and advanced. This was 23% higher than one class and 25% higher than the other class! I think this definitely goes to prove that WBT is effective! I'm pretty sure that my colleagues are now convinced and are ready to jump in full force!

Staci,
Way to go on the testing! It proves that you don't need to spend all day, every day doing test practice, but rather, by teaching kids to think and express ideas, they will do better on any type of test!
keep up the great work!

Thanks Deb!

I was super excited to see my test results. It's definitely gotten the rest of my 3rd grade team more on board with WBT! Even our new 3rd grade teacher, who is my mentee, is even trying it out in her classroom! I think she's going to be super happy with the results and the use in her classroom!
