TOPIC: HELP

HELP 7 months, 3 weeks ago #8476

I have been using whole brain teaching in my 4th grade room. I spent a lot of time over the summer setting up: creating a score board, posters, rules, etc. Today, I was given a note to meet with my principal on my plan time. She wants to know why "keeping your dear teacher happy" is something that is the responsibility of my students. I think of this rule as a catch all for the other 4 rules. Obviously I do not expect twenty 9/10 year olds to keep my emotional health on a good level. At this point I am afraid I am going to have to take my rule five poster down. I am not sure how to even address this issue with her without sounding like I am say, "duh" to my boss. An suggestions?

Our standard response is often convincing ... tell your students, administrators, parents, "The only thing that makes me happy is watching my kids learn."

Hey ginnywills05!

How did your meeting go with your principal? WBT is so effective and if your kids are following the classroom rules, your class will run so smoothly and the kids will be learning! I hope that your principal is convinced! Keep us posted!
