Are fewer notes taken in a WBT classroom? Or do you have them write down notes on what they just "taught" to each other to further secure the learning in their brains?

You can go either way with that. I find that I give a less notes than I used to, but I still have them take notes on really important concepts. I have seen a higher level of retention for ideas that are not as central, to the main concepts, but are still important to know even though they are not taking notes on the concepts.

How would you integrate this with AVID? I am an AVID elective instructor, as well as a 10th grade English teacher, and teaching and implementing the Cornell Notes system is imperative. Would you still have them setup and take Cornell notes, just a lighter amount?

I teach with the same amount of notes. I just add the gestures and teach/okay with it. Actually using WBT has made me figure out ways to have my students utilize the notes even better in class. If they are teaching a partner from their notes, then I know they have a better chance of studying with them. For AVID especially, it is important that students not only know how to take good notes, but know how to study with the notes; gestures and working in groups is a way to do this.

We have school-wide Cornell Notes [C-Notes] and we use them before/after Teach/Okay and VROOM. The more ways kids process the information the better!
