Hey all you fifth grade science teachers in Texas! I have found much success in using Mind Soccer as a reward for my Scoreboard! Here are just a few questions and answers I think could help! Please feel free to add on, and I'll add more when I have the time to make up some more!

1. What is the process of sediment being swept away? Erosion
2. What is the process of sediment breaking down? Weathering
3. What is the process of sediment depositing into a new place? Deposition
4. What forces destroy land? Destructive
5. What forces create new land? Constructive
6. What new landform forms at the mouth of a river where sediment deposits? Delta
7. Where does the moon get its light? Sun
8. What is the imaginary line that the sun, moon, and earth spin on? Axis
9. What is it called when the earth spins on its axis every 24 hours? Rotation
10. What is it called when the earth orbits the sun every 365 days? Revolution
11. How long is the Lunar Cycle? 28 days (this is sometimes debated)
12. Why do we see only one side of the moon? B/c the moon’s revolution and rotation take the same amount of time.
13. What moon phase looks like “no moon”? New Moon
14. What moon phase looks like a completely lit up moon? Full Moon
15. Energy from water that moves through a dam is changed into what type of energy? Hydroelectric
16. What are the agents of weathering and erosion? Water, Wind, Ice
17. How many variables should you change in a fair test? One
18. What are the variables called that you keep the same? Control variables
19. What is the most important safety rule in a lab? Tell the teacher about anything!
20. What should you always wear in a lab when working with liquids? Goggles
21. What kind of tool measures volume? Graduated Cylinder
22. What are some alternative energy sources? Wind, Sun, biofuels
23. What are the three fossil fuels? Coal, oil, natural gas
24. What is another name for oil? Petroleum
25. What type of rock is formed in layers and you can find fossils in these layers? Sedimentary
26. What type of rock is formed from heat and pressure? Metamorphic
27. What type of rock is formed from molten lava cooled and hardened? Igneous
28. What do you call a physical feature that helps a species survive in its environment? Adaptation
29. What is a behavior called that is learned? Learned Behavior
30. What is a behavior called that an organism is born knowing how to do? Instinct
31. What tool do you use to measure mass? Triple Beam Balance or balance
32. What tool do you use to measure length? Ruler or meter stick
33. What tool do you use to measure temperature? Thermometer

This is an incredible list of questions...Great job. Writing them all down so that you have them makes it all so much easier than thinking of them on the fly!
