TOPIC: So excited to find WBT!

So excited to find WBT! 10 months, 2 weeks ago #6531

Hello,
I am a 3rd grade teacher in North Carolina and was searching the web for new ideas for the upcoming school year. I looked at several youtube videos and was hooked. Now I am on the website reading all I can read. I cannot wait to implement this in my classroom this year. I am a little intimidated, but I think I can learn enough in the next month to begin. Is there anyone else out there planning on implementing this approach for the first time this school year?
Dawn

Hi Dawn,
I wanted you to know that you were not alone! I am switching from an ESL inclusion position(5th & 6th) to my very first self-contained classroom. It happened to be in third grade, so a lot is new to me for next year. I attended the national convention last month in Louisiana and learned a lot. I cannot wait for school to start!. Good luck to you,
Suzi.

Hi Suzi & Dawn,

I am not implementing WBT for the first time this year, but wanted to welcome you to WBT. It will change your teaching career, for the better!

Start off slow, with the Big 7 and the 5 step lesson plan, if you feel comfortable.

Most importanly, HAVE FUN & post questions if you have any!

Good luck!

I also wanted to say hello. I teach 3rd grade in Missouri! This is my second year to fully implement WBT in my classroom. I have to agree with Tiffany, and say that it will totally transform your classroom and your teaching style. I had so much fun teaching last year, and my kiddos did so well. I'm super excited that you are going to give WBT a shot in your classroom. Keep posting on the forum with how things are going in your classroom, and also with any questions you have. There are lots of fellow WBT teachers out here that will be happy to help in any way!

Thanks,
