Here it is at http://education-location.blogspot.com/ .

Dorian,

I loved your blog! Your classroom looks great! I teach 2nd grade and I'm excited to see a few more 2nd graders on board with WBT. I've been a WBTeer since November!

Another update. Today I needed some encouragement. But, after telling myself, "It's cool." I'm getting back on track.

You go it is OK remember WBT can be a roller coaster. Keep up on your daily reports, score them that will help. I also wore a name tag (the school I'd) and on the back I printed in large letters to myself ...watch your own emotions, to have a WBT class you must be a WBT teacher, and last remember it is your class. Hope this made you feel better....it's cool

I love your blog! Getting my blog started has been hard for me. I keep feeling like I need my students, so I will have more to share. It looks like you have things under control.
My sister is starting WBT this school year, too. She has eight days in and has expressed some of the same feeling that you expressed in your last post. She has three boys that were not responding to the Class/Yes, etc. I was reminded when looking at other forum posts about the beauty of practicing how to do things wrong before demostrating how to do it right. I'm going to remind her about that tonight. Have you tried that? It might help out.

Oooooh.....I had forgotten about that! I always practice the right way with the kids, but for some reason I forget to have some show me the wrong way. I think we'll do that tomorrow and try making it fun and silly. Thanks for the great reminder!!

You're welcome. My sister said the same thing when I shared the reminder about "practicing the wrong way" with her last night. Let me know how it goes.

Oooh, ooh, ooh, practicing the "wrong way" really seemed to work some magic. I think on Monday we'll practice that once again just as a reminder.

Ahhhh.....the next installment of my blog. Read it. If you dare!! :O)

I just read your newest installment. You have a great description of the first week of school. I think your plan of using the scoreboard more is great. That, along with, modeling the wrong way to do things should bring you the results you are looking for. Keep us posted.

Dorian...
It sounds about right!

Suggestion, try to break your class up, like you did, give the Alphas a 4, the go alongs a 3, the fence sitters a 2, and the challenges a 1. Add up all of these numbers and divide it by the number of students you have in your class. This is going to provide your your overall class behavior/management average. I am currently doing this myself. Start by getting the go alongs and the fence sitters up to alpha material. Then, you will have 3/4 of your class on board. Now you can focus on the challenging students, and have enough energy to do it! It has helped me so much! I can come into class and MOST students are achieving their personal goal. HTH!
